The South African Post Office has a branch in Silverton, eastern Pretoria, Philatelic Services, to cater for stamp collectors.
Collectors can place a standing order for new stamps, and pay money in advance into a deposit account to pay for the required items, which are then automatically sent to the collector as they are issued during the year. Should the money run short, Philatelic Services will advise the collector.
New stamps can be ordered, be it singles or sheet corner blocks of four, or even full sheets, as well as first day covers, postcards, aerograms and stamp souvenir items.
Similar services are provided by the postal administrations of Namibia, Botswana and other countries.
