The Philatelic Congress

Every philatelic society and club affiliated to the Philatelic Federation, even a stamp club for juniors, can take part in the annual philatelic congress.

Any matter relating to or affecting the hobby can be raised and discussed at the congress, which can decide how to handle or proceed with the issues which are voiced.

The one-day philatelic congress is usually held in conjunction with the national (or an international) philatelic exhibition, which draws collectors from far and wide.

At the congress the various portfolio managers or committees present reports on their activities, which can then be discussed.  These reports are circulated to delegates beforehand, so that they can prepare comments or questions.

The philatelic congress votes on and makes the Federation’s major awards, while a number of other awards are announced and made at the congress, which also elects the President for the following year.
